Indian Music: Episode 1

Hey guys,

I was thinking after yesterday when some people asked me to list down the songs we listened to. And well, I think it will be nice for me also to have a snapshot of the music I love right now, so I thought lets make this a thing. I’m going to write down some of my favorite songs here by category. If you want me to translate any of the songs for you, just comment below, I will post a translation! 🙂 Some brilliant Pakistani singers also feature in this list, so ‘Indian’ isn’t as accurate as one can be. But well, convenience trumps that.

  1. Hi Shiv! I’ve been listening to this a lot the past couple of days and it’s amazing, still can’t find all of the songs but i’ve completely fallen in love with some of them (chupke chupke raat din, and shaam-aisha, and many more actually). Could you let me know the names of a couple of other songs i’m missing too? 🙂
    – the song about traveling (you said it was one of the most epic roadtrip songs ever, haha. i believe there was something along the lines of ‘the road is telling me you’re about to meet someone’. or maybe i’m mixing up two different songs now?)
    – the berlin wall song about the hearts
    – the one we were singing that night in the courtyard with david
    – the song with the nice piano solo in the beginning that we tried to play
    – the one with the line about ‘let’s share some life’ (or something like that)
    – more of the songs you played that last night, they were all so beautiful. (i know that some of them are already in this list but i don’t remember exactly which is which..)

Hope all is well and you’re having a blast back home. hugs, Rosa

“Ye Raasta” from the film “Swades”

Er, I dunno! 😦 Was it “Chanda suraj lakhon taare” ?
      – the one we were singing that night in the courtyard with david
“Sabse peeche hum khade” by Mohit Chauhan
      – the song with the nice piano solo in the beginning that we tried to play
I’m confused about this, but I think it was “Chura Liya Hai Tumne”
      – the one with the line about ‘let’s share some life’ (or something like that)
That’s on the list! 🙂 “Kya khayaal hai”
      – more of the songs you played that last night, they were all so beautiful. (i know that some of them are already in this list but i don’t remember exactly which is which..)

I’m really happy you are enjoying the music! 🙂 Second list soon.
